2005-2006

Annual Report on Urban Competitiveness (No.2) showed that, according to the comparison of data of 200 cities，the top 10 cities of overall competitiveness ranking of Chinese cities are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Suzhou(Jiangsu Province), Hangzhou, Tianjin, Ningbo, Nanjing, and Wenzhou, while the last 10 cities are Jincheng, Suzhou(Anhui Province), Tieling, Chaohu, Xuancheng, Hanzhong, Baoshan, Bozhou, Yan'an and Chizhou. Obviously the most competitive cities in China are mostly located in the three major metropolitan areas. A group of prefecture-level cities of the provinces located along the eastern coast are also very competitive. In addition, their competitiveness are rising quickly.

In this research, the overall competitiveness indicators are integration of four major categories of indicators of talent competitiveness, corporation competitiveness, living environment competitiveness, and business environment competitiveness. According to the statistical comparative analysis of 50 cities, their ranking in terms of each sub item index indicator is as follows:
